ニセコなだれ情報第14号 Niseko Avalanche Info No.14
山麓7時-13度、吹雪、ふきだまりが発達。
海上弁慶岬北西18m/s、山頂25-30m/sが断続。強い吹雪が24時間続き雪庇、ふきだまりが発達し続けている。標高800m以上稜線雪庇斜面、風下ノールには24時間で130cm-180cmのふきだまりが発達、断続的に続く風雪の中で増加している。標高900m水野の沢、湯の沢上部、藤原の沢標 高1200m付近では12/24層上の厚さ100cmのふきだまり内部の弱線から破断面80cmの面発生なだれが起こる可能性が高い。
ニセコビレッジパトロール報告で午前7時ノールで破断面200cmのなだれ発生。
ロープをくぐりコース外を滑ってはならない。多くの雪崩事故は悪天候下の風下急斜面で起こっている。
ニセコのパウダーシーズンが始まる。滑る前に雪崩リスクを考えること。雪に隠れたブッシュに注意。
ゲー トはまだ開かない。
雪は良い。
-13℃ at the base. The Fubuki (snow storm) is continuing and snowdrifts are growing deep.
18m/s NW wind at Benkei cape, topping 25-30m/s NW at the peak. The storm has been persisting for 24hours and cornices/snowdrifts are drastically developing (up to 130 – 180 cm) in leeward ridgeline/knoll slopes above 800m.
Mizuno no sawa 900m, upper Yu no sawa, Fujiwara no sawa 1200m have100+cm of snowdrifts on top of 12/24 layer and a very high slab avalanche hazard of up to 80cm thickness is to be considered in such places.
Niseko Village Ski Patrol has reported a 200cm thick avalanche during their operations at 7am.
Do not duck ropes to step out of bounds, many of the avalanche accidents happen in leeward steep slopes during poor weather.
Niseko has now entered the Powder Season, be aware of the risks you’re taking before you start riding.
Bushes are still hiding shallow underneath the surface.
Gates will be kept closed for the moment.
