48時間以上に及ぶ北寄りの風雪で風下にふきだまりが大きく発達、風のピークは昨日17時、20m/sの突風、標高800m付近では場所により150cm以上の風成雪スラブを形成、観測と試験から圧密焼結し安定方向、しかし量が多く重いため場所により深部層から破断する可能性が残る。東尾根、北斜面、鉱山の沢、大沢などの雪庇下急斜面では引き続き雪崩の危険が高い。1番2番3番及び4番ゲートは閉じられる。他は未定、パトロールの判断を待つこと。絶対にロープをくぐってはならない。
ここはスキー場であり国は基本的にコース外滑走を認めていない。事故が続けば規制は更に強まる。ニセコはコース外滑走の自由を尊重するが、同時に滑走者の自覚と節度ある行動を求めている。雪崩は自然現象だが事故は人が起こす。このスポーツに安全はない。同時滑走を避けること。谷底にとどまらないこと。ビーコンはオンか?天候急変に注意。良い一日を。
Moiwa base 6am: -8℃, light wind, 15cm snowfall. Moiwa 800m: -10.4℃, major snowdrift development from the north. Mikaeri 800m: -13℃, NNW1.0m/s, snow depth 350cm. Annupuri 1100m: -12.6℃, WNW5.1m/s, gusts to 15m/s. Village 1000m: -11.3℃, N7.2m/s, gusts to 15m/s. Hirafu Hanazono 1000m: -12.1℃, N8.1m/s, gusts to 15m/s. Hanazono 800m: -11.3℃, NNW2.8m/s, gusts to 20m/s. Coastal data: Benkei Cape NNW12m/s, Kamui Cape WNW10m/s, 1018hPa, 2.8m waves.
Over 48 hrs of northerly winds and snow have caused large snowdrifts to form downwind. Winds peaked at 5pm yesterday with 20m/s gusts. At 800m, aeolian snow slabs of over 150cm have formed. Observations and tests indicate that the snow is compacting, bonding and is stabilizing. However, due to the large amount and weight of snow, in some areas there is still a possibility of fractures at deeper layers. The risk of avalanches remains HIGH on steep slopes under cornices. Areas like Higashi One(East Ridge), the North Face, Kozan no Sawa(Back Bowl) and Osawa. Gates 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be closed. Other gates are undecided. Please wait for the patrol’s decision. Never duck ropes.
This is a ski resort. The government does not generally allow off-piste skiing from ski resorts. If accidents continue, more restrictions will result. Niseko respects your freedom to ski off-piste, but at the same time, we ask skiers to be aware of their responsibilities and act accordingly. Avalanches are natural phenomena, accidents only happen when people are involved. There is no safety in this sport. Avoid more than 1 skier on the slope at the same time.
