標高1000m以上は北東風が強く上部リフトの運行困難、降雪はなく山は堅い。コース外の事故防止のため各ゲートは閉じられる。ロープを越えてはならない。パトロールの指示に従うこと。この情報はニセコのスキー場コース外の雪崩事故防止のために出されている。多くの雪崩事故は吹雪などの悪天候下で起こっている。ニセコでは吹雪が作るふきだまり(風成雪スラブ・雪板)の発達推移からリスクを量り注意を呼び掛けている。雪崩事故の8割は吹雪かその直後に起こっている。多量の降雪時、吹雪など悪天候時の危険を正しく理解することが、事故防止には最も重要とニセコでは考えている。人々が学んだ知識を過信しないことを願っている。今日も北海道東部では北東の風雪が続く。頻発する事故の対応にあたる北海道警察山岳救助隊と各消防に深く感謝する。

Niseko believes that correctly understanding the dangers during heavy snowfall and severe weather like blizzards is most crucial for accident prevention.
